What to Pack For A Car Camping Adventure
Fire.
Prometheus gave it to us for a reason, and that reason is to warm ourselves by the comfort and beauty of a fireside. Car camping is perfect place for duraflame logs because of their ease of carry, light, and the consistent, great burn. Grab a few logs and toss them in the trunk.
Your Shelter.
One of the best parts of car camping is having a car, not just a backpack. This means you can bring WAY MORE STUFF! So, finding your ideal tent, should not be a problem. Just make sure you bring all the essentials along:
- Tent
- Poles
- Stakes and Lines
- Tarp
- Rain Fly
Sleeping.
Sleeping bags, pillows, mattresses, cushions, these are all available should you decide to bring them. Just because you're in nature doesn't mean you shouldn't live like a king or a queen.
- Sleeping Pads
- Sleeping Bags
- Pillows
- Blankets
Clothing.
You gotta stay comfortable, and that means dressing for the weather. However glamorous your camping, the elements won't be forgiving—so dress appropriately. Always bring layers and rain gear should you happen to get stuck in a wet spell.
- Warm layers
- Wool Socks
- Sunglasses
- Rain gear
- Waterproof Hiking Boots
- Hat & gloves
Safety.
Safety is always the most important, which is why we include it here last (just kidding). In all seriousness, being in nature means you're not close to a hospital, so be prepared for the unexpected.
- First aid(!)
- Sunscreen
- Flash lights
- Extra water
- Map & compass
