Fireside Snacks: Dirt Cake
Everyone loves a throwback, especially when it’s in the form of a delicious dessert. At #CampDuraflame, we’re all about the nostalgia, and this dirt cake seriously fits the bill. It’s as fun to make as it is to eat. Here’s how to do it.
You’ll need:
2 packages chocolate pudding mix (can sub with pudding cups if you prefer)
3.5 cups cold milk (omit if using pudding cups)
12-oz. container whipped topping, thawed
1 package chocolate sandwich cookies
Pretzel sticks
Mini marshmallows
How-to:
Pulse cookies in a blender or food processor until the texture resembles that of dirt.
Combine milk with pudding mixture and let rest in the refrigerator until set. To make things even easier, use pudding cups!
While the pudding is setting, make your mini “roasting sticks” by sticking small marshmallows on pretzel sticks.
Once the pudding has set, mix in the whipped topping. This will create a fluffy texture.
In a serving bowl, set down a layer of crushed sandwich cookies and top with a layer of pudding mixture. Repeat layers until all the pudding and cookies have been used, making sure to finish with a layer of cookie crumbles on top.
Decorate with mini “roasting sticks” and serve fireside.
