• Spread out a big blanket. When you’re comfy and not crowded (or stuck to the grass), you’ll wanna sit back and stay awhile. We recommend choosing something you’re not too afraid of getting dirty. In other words? Skip the dry-clean-only fabrics.

• Light it up! String some fairy lights outside to set a marvelous mood. Bonus points if it’s a surprise.

• Choose a bottle of something special. Date night in the backyard is an occasion, so buy accordingly! Whether you go for a little something that brings back memories (maybe the wine you ordered on your first date?) or some bubbles that are sliiightly more luxe than what you usually purchase, you won’t regret it. Serve in unbreakable glasses!

• Cheese? Yes, please! Start date night in the kitchen by building a charcuterie board together. It’s fun, it’s easy and the best part…no cooking required. We recommend one hard cheese, one soft cheese and one that you are both trying for the first time. Round out your platter with olives, your favorite fruit, jam, sturdy crackers and whatever cured meats strike your fancy. Don’t forget a baguette!
