HOMEMADE MARSHMALLOWS

Enjoy this simple and delicious homemade marshmallow recipe!

You'll need:

  • 3 packages (¼ ounce each) unflavored gelatin
  • 1 cup cool water
  • 1 ½ cup granulated sugar
  • 1 cup light corn syrup
  • ½ tsp salt
  • 1 tbsp vanilla extract
  • Powdered (Confectioners) sugar

How to:

  1. Combine gelatin and ½ cup cool water in the bowl of an electric mixer, Mix briefly to combine; set aside.
  2. Combine sugar, corn syrup, salt, and ½ cup cool water in a deep saucepan. Cook over medium heat, until sugar dissolves. Don’t stop stirring.
  3. Raise to high heat and cook, stop stirring, and wait until the syrup reaches 240°F on your thermometer.
  4. Remove from heat, and slowly pour syrup into mixer. Increase speed to high and whip until the mix is fluffy and thick, about 3 minutes. Add vanilla.
  5. Spread mixture into a greased 9x13 inch pan.
  6. Sprinkle powdered sugar on top, let sit overnight, then cut using a greased knife.
  7. Serve with a hot drink, such as Spiced Hot Cocoa, or bundle it up as a gift!
