- Sweep and power wash the patio.
First things first, clear your patio of furniture, and sweep off any loose debris. You can also use a leaf blower to help remove debris if you have a large patio area to clean. Wet weather can accumulate dirt and silt on your patio, so you may want to hose down your patio after you sweep. If you want to take your clean up to the next level, you can also use a power washer to completely remove dirt or stains that have settled in to stay.
- Clean the patio furniture.
Next, pull your patio furniture into place and wipe it down with a wet cloth to remove the dust and cobwebs it may have gathered while in storage. We recommend researching the best way to treat your furniture based on its material before using any other products other than a wet cloth. Don’t forget to brush off the cushions as well so they’re ready for your guests to lounge comfortably!
- Clean the fire pit.
Your fire pit should be clean and ready for the memories to be made sitting around the fire. We recommend you brush out and dispose of all debris after every fire. There should be no remnants of past burns in your fire pit, so your duraflame firelogs can burn their very brightest every time!
- Freshen the flower beds.
To create the perfect aesthetic for your backyard parties, pay close attention to your patio’s surroundings. Simply freshening up your flower beds by pulling the weeds, putting down new mulch and planting flowers will keep your patio party-ready all summer long.

- Keep the mosquitos away
For final touches before spending time outside, set up some citronella candles to keep the mosquitos away during your party. For a natural solution, try planting lemongrass when you are freshening up your flower beds!
